Skilled Nursing
Cerenity White Bear Lake provides 24-hour skilled nursing care to residents who have a variety of needs. This is the highest level of care a person can receive outside of a hospital.
In the Care Center, residents live in one of six “neighborhoods.” The neighborhood names are Cedar Terrace, Cypress Court, Evergreen Trail, Maple Lane, Oak Crest and Oak Crossing. Each neighborhood has a lounge area with a small kitchen and cable television.
Evergreen Trail, the memory care neighborhood, is home to residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. It provides a safe environment – indoors plus a beautiful courtyard – where they can maintain their independence and have as much freedom as possible within their neighborhood. A wander-control system helps ensure residents’ safety. The memory care unit offers activities and programs designed to foster the highest level of independence.
Prior to admission, a social worker and nurse conduct an assessment to determine the optimum level of care for each individual resident. Our social services department helps incoming residents and their families with all aspects of moving in and adjusting to life at Cerenity White Bear Lake.
Throughout a resident’s stay, social workers ensure each resident’s needs are met; assist with applying for financial assistance; and refer residents and family members to community resources as needed. They also assist with discharge planning as appropriate.
Care Center residents can take part in a wide range of programs such as social events, craft groups, exercise, music programs and theme parties. We also offer outings to destinations including apple orchards, restaurants, shopping, Twins games and a wide variety of White Bear Lake Community events. Residents usually ride in our wheelchair-accessible van on these outings.
