Marian of Saint Paul is hosting an in-depth discussion on end-of-life options, led by Michele Fedderly, executive director of the Minnesota Network of Hospice and Palliative Care.  The event will be held Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, from 1:30-2:30 p.m.in the Care Center’s Parkview Lounge.

Ms. Fedderly will discuss Provider Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) and services obtained when using hospice or palliative care. She also will discuss advance care planning, including the need to have financial affairs in order, health care directives, and making a loved one as comfortable as possible in this stage of life.

Ms. Fedderly was named one of the 100 most influential health care leaders in Minnesotain 2008 and serves on the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Board of Directors.
