Look Good, Feel Good

Posted on August 31st, 2011 in Services and Amenities, White Bear Lake | No Comments

We’re all familiar with the old adage, “If you look good, you feel good.” That’s why beauty/barber shops are essential amenities at Cerenity Care Centers and Residences. Debra Sandberg, admissions coordinator for the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at Cerenity White Bear Lake, says one of the first things patients who arrive from the hospital ask is, “When can I get my hair cut?” Katy Langness has been a hair stylist at Cerenity White Bear Lake for nearly 12 years. “The elderly are such a joy to work with,” says Katy. “I enjoy visiting with them and hearing their stories.” Many of the women have their hair set weekly. Katy has long, established relationships with these residents. Joanne, who works in the beauty/barber shop on Thursdays, has been serving tenants and residents for 30 years. She serves donuts to customers, making it an even sweeter experience. Stylist Pat Boyer prepares a tenant for a cut and style.
